Checking music copyright on YouTube

How to check whether a song will be blocked on YouTube before submitting it to the contest.

Organizers often run into problems when streaming concerts or publishing entries on YouTube.

Sometimes videos are blocked or played without sound because of copyright.

Before choosing a song, always check its status.

How to check a song

The simplest way is to upload a test video.

  1. Make a video with:

    • any image, even a black screen
    • the audio track you want to use
  2. Upload the video to your YouTube channel.

  3. After processing, open: YouTube Studio -> Content

The restriction status will be shown there.
