Why producers withdraw

One of the biggest fears for every season's organizers is having many participants withdraw. Every year we try to reduce that number, but motivation alone is not always enough to finish a project successfully.

Let's look at the main reasons why producers drop out on the way to the final.

1. Computer stability

The most common reason is technical trouble.

Creating a performance takes a lot of time, and during that time a computer can fail. To avoid losing your work, regularly save backups to cloud services:

What you should always back up

• characters and their appearance
• sets and decorations
• filmed videos, preferably in .mp4
• video editor project files
• package, mods, and tray folders

Important: some video editors do not store media files inside the project. If you delete the original files, the edit may break.

Before filming:

• check your system
• fix critical problems
• set up backups

2. Not enough time

Producing a performance takes time.

A finished entry usually requires about:

20-80 hours

This includes:

• finding and testing CC
• filming
• editing
• effects

Advice:

• split the process into stages
• plan deadlines in advance
• do not leave everything for the last few days

Otherwise, even good ideas may never make it to the final video.

3. Loss of interest

Long work creates a risk of burnout.

Common reasons:

• repetitive processes such as animation and editing
• fatigue
• lack of motivation

What helps:

• take a break
• switch to something else
• return later

Fear can also get in the way:

"What if I do not win?"

It is important to remember:

• winners are not the only entries people remember

This is one of the most dangerous factors.

The closer the deadline gets, the scarier it becomes to start.
