Cheats for filming video in Sims 3
Essential cheats for building scenes, controlling Sims, and filming videos in The Sims 3.
Use special cheats to make filming easier and to get a cleaner, more realistic picture in the game.
Basics
- Open the console: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Letter case does not matter
- Common values:

- on / off
Main cheats
TestingCheatsEnabled true/false
Enables developer mode.
When it is active, hold Shift and click objects such as a Sim, mailbox, or the ground.
HideHeadlineEffects on/off
Disables the plumbob and thought bubbles above a Sim's head.
This is essential for clean filming.
MoveObjects on/off
Allows you to:
- move objects freely
- place Sims exactly where you need them
Use it for building sets and arranging scenes.
FadeObjects on/off
Disables object transparency when the camera gets close.
This does not affect Sims.
SlowMotionViz 1-8
Slows down Sim movement without changing the game speed.
- the higher the number, the slower the movement
- very high values are not recommended

Opens hidden objects when TestingCheats is enabled.
This gives access to:
- fog emitters
- hidden lighting
- stage decor
- object and creature generators
MovieMakerCheatsEnabled true/false
Unlocks access to Sim animations.
After enabling it, use Shift + click on a Sim.

- playing animations
- looping actions
- disabling head turns
- editing in CAS
- disabling free will
